Please select "file", then "save" to copy these instructions. Then click "back", to return to the website. Thank You for using this pattern. Please follow the guidelines below. I believe that You will be very happy with the results. To use this sample, you will need a drafting program that can read AutoCAD files. (*.dwg) If you purchase EZ Pipe Software, no drafting program is needed. You can print out your own custom pattern in minutes, or a list of coordinates with a thumbnail drawing. I assume No Responsibility for any loss(es) due to use or misuse of this pattern. First, use a couple of patterns on small, non-rush jobs. You will love the results. You will soon have confidence in the accuracy of these patterns. This pattern can give you a very good fit. But you must carefully follow the lines. (You may cut out and trace the pattern, or just wrap around and make punch marks on the curve.) Use scissors to cut along the curve. (good lighting helps) Carefully wrap the pattern around the pipe, after brushing off any dirt or rust. Your pattern covers the GOOD SIDE of your cut. Trace along the curve, and place quarter marks at the top, bottom and sides. (hint: After removing the pattern, fit a piece of angle iron onto the pipe to guide a scribe, and scratch lines where you put the quarter marks. These scratches will help you align the pipes in the right position.) Cut up to (not into) the area that was covered by the pattern. The closer you follow the line, the better the fit will be. If you are careful, there will be NO GAPS. This program can make your job very easy. One of the best features is, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BEVEL THE PIPE !!! For example, when making a branch from a pipe, I recommend: Mark and cut the branch. CUT STRAIGHT DOWN, like cutting plate. DO NOT BEVEL. Remove slag from inside edges. Smooth inside edges with grinder or sanding disk. The branch will fit ONTO the header like a glove, before you even mark the header. Fit the finished branch onto the header. Hold it in place, and AIM it or LEVEL it as you desire. Mark the header where the branch contacts it. Remove branch. Cut out header opening well inside this line. (Branch fits ONTO header, OR INTO header.) ONTO header is much easier, and more accurate. Thank You for your interest in EZ Pipe Software. Hope to hear from you again soon.
